It's almost Christmas! The weather is bitterly cold, but no snow...bummer! As I was decorating for the season, I love looking back at all the Christmas memories from when the kids were little. I am soooooo glad I saved the little momentos.... like the letters to Santa...they are sooo much fun to read each year. I even saved some of their Christmas crafts.
The Christmas tree has ornaments from the last 30 years of memories! I love Christmas traditions. We didn't have much of that when I was growing up, so I tried very hard to create traditions for my children. For me, 'tradition" says, "I love you."
It's been a week full of sadness as well as overwhelming joy. I have been reading a blog on the Caring Bridge website of a family that lost a three week old baby. I know the parents are grieving their sweet baby boy....how tough that must be. I know they are leaning on God as their comforter and trust Him completely to get them through this tough time. Also, there was a young man that fought bone cancer couragously, but lost that battle this week. I pray for each of these families for God's loving arms to hold them and give them "peace beyond all understanding." .....One the JOYOUS note.....I will be a NEW GRANDMOTHER to a sweet, beautiful little girl from the Hunan Province of China. She is almost 18 mos old and will be in the US on Jan. 21st...We have been waiting and waiting....IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!! I will get to keep my 4year old and 2 year old grandbabies for about a week while their mommy and daddy go get Ashley Mei LuHao...Im sure I'll have alot to post, but not much time to do it! Pray for me!
