Getting Ready!

In exactly three weeks I will have my sweet 4 year old and 2 year old grandchildren for about a week while mommy, daddy, and sister Avery go to China to bring home our Ashley. The Christmas decorations are all put up and nothing will occupy those bare tables until after they're home again...no need in dealing with extra "stuff"...my house is being transformed into a kid friendly home...will get latches for the cabinets under the sink and bring out all the toys from the attic! This is going to be hard for them to be away from mommy and daddy for so long and I get the last leg of the journey....sooooo all of my attention will be on them. I have even started cooking and putting things in the freezer for dinners. I have some outings planned (weather dependent) and also so recruits! We will bake cookies, read, read, and read! Watch movies and just "play"...I think I need to get a dr. kit..We will take daily walks and sit by the fire at night reading books and coloring. I can't wait because I think it will give us some quality time together. I will have to take them to my school one day just to show them off! Because they are so far from me, I don't get to do those kind of things.
Stephen is doing his usual "man vs. wild" backpacking campout with Neil...they are at Eagle Loop..close to Murfreesboro in the Ouachita Mountain. They are expected to return on Sun....that is, if they don't have to be airlifted out! Not funny!...
Today is just a "wonderful, ordinary, day"...savor it, embrace it....love these days!
